Can I use a 220V Rice cooker in the UK (rated at 487 watts, 50hz)? What is the worst that can happen?

My understanding is that this *should* work under the new downgraded UK voltages but I'm not sure. Please can someone explain if it is safe, and if so, why it is safe?

It might not have UK safety approvals, but should be safe enough if approved for CE, and ther major safety standards.
