What size generator will run central A/C unit?
Will a 10000 watt 50amp generator run my 2.5 ton central air unit with nothing else on?
This unit is a package unit all outside.
On your A/C unit there should be a label,
look on it for ____ F.L.A. (Full Load Amps).
If it's less than 50, you should be OK, but you also need to factor in the amperage draw of the inside air handler. That should have a label on it as well.
