how to synchoronize the generator (with gcb,GT) to grid??????????
from Grid iam getting power (rated 400kv/20kv) through GT and its goes to UAT.,,ST.,, now my generator(rated 20kv ) ready.,, now iam closing my GCB.,, in GT iam suddenly giving 20kv on that Gt.,, what will happend
First you have to bring the GT up to synchronous speed. Then, by applying excitation current, you bring up the generator's voltage to the same value as at the generator transformer terminals (20kV in your case). You must check that the rotation direction of the 3 phases of generator voltage matches that of the transformer. Next the three generator voltages must be brought exactly into correspondence with the three transformer voltages. At this point the generator breaker may be closed. On no account close the breaker if these conditions are not met !! This would amount to applying some degree of short circuit to the terminals - worst case a "double-short". Equipment is available on the market to perform this sychronisation procedure automatically.
For PMI: UAT = unit aux. transformer, ST = station transformer
