Why do people still drag race the 60's Muscle cars?
I have to admit the 60's muscle cars are cool, but they are outdated today. They have bad tires which can't put the power to the ground with that horsepower. Their Leaf Springs suspensions twist under the power and aren't that good. They use OHV engines, which are outdated and used by Lawn Mowers. They aren't Aerodynamic and most of there horsepower is used fighting resistance and they are carb which Fuel Injection provides more power. Why do people still race them?
A new Mustang and Camaro can make faster 1/4th mile times on much less horsepower same with the Lancer EVO, and the WRX STI. Sure muscle cars are cool and loud by not great race cars any more.
Its a hobby ...
Let people do their hobby,
even if the racing teams theoretically operate as a business,
its still something they want to do or they would not be doing it.
They can have fun doing what they do, and its not YOUR problem.
