When did Detroit Diesel merge with GM?
I have heard that Detroit diesel was once their own company, someone told me they merged with GM in the 70s or 80s, i thought they had always been GM. Were they their own company a one time and then they merged with GM?
They never merged with GM they were started by GM in 1937. GM sold a portion of them off to Penske in 1988 and were spun off into a different company that Daimler bought in 2000.
