Dealing with AP Environmental Science. Can you help with homework or know somewhere I can get help?
You are planning on leasing a car. You've narrowed your choices down to a midsize Taurus, which gets 23 mpg (miles per gallon) and a SUV Excursion, which gets 13 mpg. You are aware that a gallon of gas when combusted releases 28 pounds of CO2 into the atmosphere. You intend you drive the full maximum allowed mileage of 12,000 miles per year during the lease period. Sierra Club claims that switching from the mid-sized car to the SUV would waste enough energy to keep a 75 watt light bulb lit for 30 years. How many kilocalories would this involve?
